Here's a rather expensive (but beautifully refinished and reliced) one in France:

Here we go again.
Thought I had secured the one that is for sale on here but that member has decided to pull out of our deal and sell at a higher price to someone else. To me that is isn't an acceptable use of this forum.

I have to dissent about the relic on that french bass, it looks like someone dropped a screwdriver on the bass a couple of hundred times.

I'm not so sure about that price. I would like to see what's underneath the pickguard and that ugly pickup window surrounding the bridge pickup. Must be there for a reason, possibly to cover up shoddy routing work. It has also had routing done for that extra pot in front of the original volume pot at some point. Might still be a nice player, but it's definitely not the best looker.

I managed to pick one up from a guy in Finland. Still looking for another, but not wanting one like this one with so many mods done to it.

It says it has an active EQ but I don't see a battery compartment. Unless you have to lift off the pic guard everytime to change the battery..What a pain that would be.

This bass has traveled!
I bought it right here from a guy in Waltham, the pickguard was ruined so I had a friend of mine (pro) cut the new pickguard.
The pickups as far as I remember where passive and the J routing looked fine but now it has screw holes for the stupid butcher guard.
Aside from that, great player and the pickups could be easily swapped.
I then passed it to zecacosta in Toronto, after a while he sold it on Reverb, then the guy (I know him from the distance) sold it possibly to this current seller.

...Paulo is spot on, as usual... the pickups have those 3 tiny switches with a purpose: they are the 'vintage' Seymour Duncan 'Active EQ' P/J pickup system, a short lived attempt to add EQ to the pickup itself. The battery goes under the pickguard - and yes, the Jazz routing was good but the screws on the frame messed up the finish...

Why oh why do these basses never come up for sale in the UK?
I would have snapped this up and paid the fees to get it shipped over

You can also have him send it over to one of us if he doesn’t want to ship it overseas then we can send it ove.
Good luck!
