I have been entertaining the idea of getting a looper for a while, and I'd like some opinions from those who happen to own or are familiar with what's out there. Since I would also like to keep the real estate below my feet as neat and simple as possible, my preference would be a rackmount looper that I could control with my Voodoo Labs Ground Control midi foot controller via cc messages, but I'm surprised to find that there aren't many midi loopers out there. Thoughts?

ive only had experience with the boss loopstation which is a stompbox. it may be a bit simple for you but if you end up going down the stompbox path give that a look ive never had a problem with it at all

Thanks. I am leaning towards the bigger Boss RC-50, as it has midi in/out, multiple inputs for guitar, mics, and USB for backing up loops. Although it's has a large footprint, it can be tucked away in a rack via a rack tray. The only issue that worries me is that some reviewers have said that it will not syncv to a midi source well, as it will only work as the midi master. If Roland ever gets around to doing a system update to correct this, I'll consider buying one.
